The Pianist

The Pianist 2003/03/08

the pianist, its a sad sad movie ,which i watched today. a story about a pianist who were tossed about by the war. RomanPolanski made a very impressive movie about the holocost and his country Poland. my impression was that the leading actor has a bit feelingless face. so i couldnt be absorbed in the story. i suppose what the director wanted best to shoot was the ruins of the ghettoo in the late of the movie. i wonder he really built it for this movie instead of computer graphic? bleak landscape was so impressive that audience can realize that war can leave just miserable, cold world to people. another point was that Poland was released from German ,but afterthen occupied by Russia, which means "from nightmare to nightmare". but the director didnt describe such bad omen in the last scenes.the deletion could give the movie a straightforward impression. but i would like the director to make a movie with a bad aftertaste.
anyway it is a very good timing that this movie was shown here on the brink of begining a new gulf war and north korea's missile test.we have to rethink the misery of war and make best efforts to avoid another war.
